SpringFest is a South Portland community celebration that will return to the Red Bank neighborhood on Friday, May 16, and to Mill Creek Park on Saturday, May 17, 2025, bigger, better, and even more fun!
Attendees can look forward to exciting new additions: The Unstoppable Gnome Community Road Race, Maine’s first-ever Children’s Entrepreneur Marketplace, and the SpringFest Cornhole Championship – events that bring even more energy and community engagement to SpringFest and South Portland’s Mill Creek Park.
The Unstoppable Gnome Road Race
This course loops through South Portland’s Knightville neighborhood and is designed for all ages and abilities. The Unstoppable Gnome Community Road Race offers 1, 3, and 5-mile options, plus a 5-mile relay for teams. The first 100 kids up to 8th grade to sign up run free, making it an inclusive and fun event for all ages and skill levels—from casual walkers to competitive runners.
Maine’s First Children’s Entrepreneur Marketplace
SpringFest will host the Children’s Entrepreneur Marketplace, where young innovators showcase and sell handcrafted goods. This unique event empowers young people by providing a platform to develop their entrepreneurial skills and share their talents with the community.
SpringFest Cornhole Championship
Cornhole players of all levels, get ready! SpringFest 2025 introduces the SpringFest Cornhole Championship, a fun, 64-team tournament. Whether you’re a seasoned cornhole pro or just starting, this is your chance to compete for the championship title of Best in Gnome. Teams will compete in a professionally managed, bracket-style competition, with prizes, bragging rights, and plenty of fun, are on the line.
Additionally, SpringFest 2025 will feature free, family-friendly activities from 11 AM to 3 PM in Mill Creek Park. Festival favorites like live entertainment at the Gnome-zebo, touch-a-truck, the Hinckley Street Food Truck Takeover, community art project, and more will return, ensuring a fun-filled SpringFest for all ages.
SpringFest is proudly presented by the Rotary Club of South Portland Cape Elizabeth and the City of South Portland and is generously supported by Bath Savings, Hannaford, DiMillo's On the Water, Ira Motor Group, Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution, Port Harbor Marine, plus over seventy local businesses and organizations. SP-CE Rotary contributes 100% of SpringFest proceeds to South Portland and local non-profit agencies and organizations focused on food security, community building, older adult projects, youth services, behavioral health, veteran needs, safe and stable housing, and community service.
